In order to improve the quality of life in Phillips County, the Foundation built a $4.2 million, 31,000 square foot Wellness Center. It was completed and dedicated in 2006. The Wellness Center is located in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. The facility is owned by the Helena Health Foundation. It is leased to the UAMS East under a long-term lease agreement in order for health, wellness and fitness programs to be administered in Phillips County and surrounding counties.

The Wellness Center houses the offices of the Helena Health Foundation, UAMS East, as well as a health information research library, diabetes education clinic, classrooms, 100-seat auditorium, a state of the art fitness center, and indoor walking track.

In 2009, an outdoor walking track was added to the complex that includes a one-half mile track, exercise stations, a pavilion and children’s playground. Access to the outdoor walking track is free for all Phillips County residents.
